if they no longer listen to their mother’s voice, it is because of their brains

It’s no secret that puberty is often a difficult time for both parents and young people themselves. It has to be said that this is a time when there are numerous changes and it is not really easy to live with them. Under these circumstances, relationships with parents can inevitably deteriorate. That’s when we often tend to say that this is a time of rebellion for young people who voluntarily oppose their parents. However, as a recent study on the subject reveals, if young people behave this way, it is actually because of their brains.

Mother’s hidden voice

Researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine conducted research on the subject to better understand the changes in young people’s lives. To this end, they were particularly interested their ability to hear and recognize the sounds around themand obey it or not.

If we already knew that babies are able to recognize their mother’s voice at a very early age among hundreds of others, it would seem that the trend is reversing as teens approach. Scientists have found that the young person’s brain no longer registers the mother’s voice. This means that there are more reward districts and brain centers aroused by unknown sounds like a mother.

The charm of strange sounds

So it seems that young people are attracted to other voices and especially those they don’t know yet. Therefore, about 13-14 years of age as a teenager is much more receptive to the voice of an unknown woman than to the voice of her own mother.

These rather surprising results finally show thata time of teenage rebellion»Is a phenomenon all the more so normal, and even though the teens themselves have nothing to do with it. It is, in fact, a consequence many changes that occur especially in the brain and that affect everyday life. As a parent, it is therefore necessary to take these findings into account, to know how to show a lot patience and above all, never stop to communicate with a teenager.
